Study on eligibility for sector 2

To set up in private practice and qualify for the sector with different fees, known as sector 2, a doctor must have acquired certain qualifications in accordance with the medical agreement.

Doctors with qualifications obtained in a European Union country or in Quebec do not automatically qualify for sector 2.

To do so, they must apply to the French social security system for equivalence, which can be a complex process.

To avoid being refused access to sector 2, our legal experts will support you throughout the process of registering as a self-employed practitioner, following the steps below:

1. A telephone or videoconference meeting to review your situation.
2.
Presentation of the equivalence procedure
3. Collection of documents
4. Verification of documents
5. Legal analysis of your situation regarding the feasibility of your plan to access sector 2

When you set up your practice for the first time, your choice of sector (1 or 2) is final! Don’t make the mistake of missing out on the opportunity to practise on a fee-free basis!

Ask a Medics Motions lawyer to contact me.
